Development Trustee Co-Chair – Reading Enrichment
Role Overview:
The Development Trustee Co-Chair supports the mission of The Gower Foundation by
leading reading enrichment initiatives across Gower West and Gower Middle Schools.
This role will co-lead development efforts, focusing on literacy engagement, and is
specifically responsible for planning and executing annual book fairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Book Fair Leadership

Plan, organize, and oversee annual book fairs at Gower West and Gower Middle

Coordinate with school administrators, librarians, teachers, and volunteers Reading Enrichment Support

Champion Foundation-funded reading initiatives, including classroom grants, author visits, and summer literacy programs through local library

Collaborate with teacher trustees to identify needs and opportunities for support

Seek out community and donor partnerships that support literacy and reading growth

Development & Fundraising (Co-Chair Role)

Partner with Development Co-Chair to support Foundation fundraising campaigns and events

Help develop literacy-related fundraising strategies
Foundation Collaboration

Serve as an active member of the Development Committee

Report regularly to the Foundation Board on reading-related efforts and outcomes

Attend trustee meetings and participate in Foundation events
