Gower Reading Enrichment
Helping our students grow as readers
Gower Foundation Read-A-Thon
The Gower Foundation is excited to support students during our Annual Read-A-Thon! The Read-A-Thon encourages and motivates PK-8th students to read, while raising money for classroom reading activities and supporting Gower West & Middle school libraries.
Reading over the summer can help your student maintain or grow their reading skills. By encouraging your child to read regularly over the summer, you are helping them maintain skills they have learned and be ready for the upcoming school year! Make time for reading together as a family, take turns reading aloud, listen to audiobooks in the car, write your own books- get creative & have fun! See the links below for fun reading programs and ideas to help motivate your child this summer!
Last year Gower won the Indian Prairie Public Library Summer Reading Trophy for having the most participants out of the local schools. Let's earn that trophy again! If Gower reclaims the IPPL trophy-all Gower West & Middle students who participated will earn a treat provided by The Gower Foundation! Let's go, Gower!
